Randomness II

I did not mention anything about the undergraduate seminar that we went to attend in PJ, did I? It was organized by our seniors to expose us to the FYP or Final Year Project that we needed to do in our third year. We had to wake up at an ungodly hour to take the bus there. @-@

Upon reaching there, we were greeted by our seniors. I did not know that one of my Sitiawan friends was my senior there in PJ! We were kinda shocked seeing each other there. Haha… Small world… Anyway, the whole thing started out well and was according to schedule. It was kinda interesting, actually. I was half expecting it be a little mudane, listening to presentations by people that we din’t really now. But then, some of the topics presented were very interesting. It was fun seeing the PJ lecturers and the lecturers that had taught us in the first sem. We were happily waving to them.

It was the first time I had been to the PJ campus. The moment we reached there, I was so thankful that I’m studying in Kampar. The place there is so old looking and crowded with buildings. The only bright spot about it is that it’s close to places like Starbucks and Secret Recipe. Apart from that, I’d rather be thrown back to Kampar although it can get a little boring at times. But it beats having to face cold concrete factories, pollution and traffic in PJ!

On the way back, we stopped by at Starbucks and got a Caramel Frap. Ahh….. It’s been so long since I had that drink. It was so nice and cold and creamy and sweet and slightly bitter! Argh… Don’t get me started, I’ll be drooling all over soon…. Hehe… I have a weakness for drinks like that.

Anyway, on the way back, my best friend called me and we talked for part of the way home. He has been a very good friend to me through whatever I have gone through, whether happy or sad. Thank you so much for always making time for me and listening to me and advising me! Looking forward to see you again during the hols! Hehe… We reached home safely and headed tiredly up to our homes. It was a tiring but rather fruitful day, I think.

I Survived!

I managed to get through the busy week that was killing all of us! Yay! The atmosphere before the test on the last day was so different from after it. Before that, you could see all the long drawn and bitter faces and sleepy eyed people walking about it class. When I drove to campus with Ann Jan and my “Ma” that day, the car was as quiet as a grave. Even when we were walking to class, we din say a word to each other. But after the test…. my goodness…. we were talking and laughing in the car, telling jokes and stories to each other, what more when we added another 2 of my funny classmates into the car.

Ann Jan and me made plans to go to Tesco after that for lunch and to get some groceries. By some weird twist of fate, Kyle came along with us. Hehe… As usual, wherever the guy is, messed up jokes and laughter will follow. We laughed all the way there, laughed through our lunch and shopping, and laughed all the way back again. We hanged out in his place for a while, pawing through his interesting books and his bass. Then we went home to get some well deserved rest and do another assignment ( they never stop, do they?)

Anyway, when we were more or less done with the assignment that night, we went out to yum cha. Hehe…. It was so COLD that night! We met a lot of people that we knew at Garney. Since it was a Saturday night, it was no wonder that the night was only beginning. We sat there and talked…. and talked… and talked, until finally our conscience pricked us and we headed back, still talking…. Hehe… What a nice end to a hectic week…. *smiles blissfully*

Randomness…

Arghh….!!! Terrible week it has been for all the EL students! Guys and girls, hang in there. If we can live through this week, we’ll most probably survive the rest of the sem. Those of you who are sick, hope that you get well soon ya! Happy that you got back your voice, Jin En! Manmeet, dun get sick again… And the rest of you, hope that you guys stay alive and well! (although the alternating between the cold class and hot outside is takng it’s toll)

CF was cancelled this week, coz all of us were too busy with the mid term. But that did not stop the folks to use the chit chat corner. Haha… Melambak lambak the messages there…. Should see the amount of things that were “discussed”! Keep it up guys! Looking forward to see you all again next week!

Anyway, gotta go back to the endless work waiting for me. Don’t even know how I managed to find time to type this post out. Erk…. The torture continues….

Save Me!

Busy busy busy!!! Why are there so many things to do this sem?! Presentation la, test la, debate la, assignments la…. Sei lo sei lo sei lo…. No time no time no time…!!!  T_T Not to mention the tons of replacement classes that we have. We have so many of them until we get confused and mixed up and blur and unsure about the time and the place of them. Not only that, the classes would go up to 9.00pm or 10.00pm at night. Erk…. So tiring to drag ourselves up to our rooms after class.

And the weather recently… Oh my goodness… Like being in a pressure cooker, slowly tenderised and heated to perfection. Hot hot hot!! My room is always heated to the temperature of inhabitability… In contrast, my classrooms are always super cold. in fact, it FREEZING!! In fact, one of my friends called them morgues. It’s so cold that we would be chattering and shivering without our jackets. Even with them, we’ll rush out into the sun when class is over, like some kind of sun-deprived plant.

Altogether life has been busy. But there still are the fun parts to it. The yum cha sessions with friends in wee hours of the night (or izit morning?), the standard crapping with friends (about crap), CF ( hehe… more crapping here, rmb the waltzing guys?), and the nonsense that I cook up to amuse myself. Hehe… Sometimes we have to make ourselves laugh and crack ourselves up (righ biao jie?). If not, life has a way of making us cry instead.

Speaking of crying, I have a very good reason to be crying recently. I think most of you know why. Surprisingly, I’m perfectly fine. I think it’s because of the “counseling” that I gave to myself. But most of all, thanks to the lots support from my friends and family, I got through that stage safely. Too safely, in fact. Even I’m freaked out with the safeness. Hehe… Thanks guys! Love you lots!!

New Year is Over, Back to Reality

I’m now back in Kampar again, to face the assignments and the presentations and the debate and the tests and the stress and the studying….. Sorry, lost my cool dere. @_@ Comes with staring too much at William Shakespear and trying to discern what he is writing.

New Year was kinda fun this year, although it started off a little boring. We went to many friend’s houses and had a class reunion. The class reunion was more than I expected. Hehe… We were crapping, laughing and catching up with each other and eating at the same time. It was nice seeing all of them again and seeing how they changed and know what each of my classmates were doing now. We took loads of pictures as well!!

As usual, every second day of new year, my family goes back to Kedah to my mom’s big, wacky and fun loving family. I enjoyed my New Year there with them. We practically talked, ate, talked more, ate more and watched movies for the 4 days that I was there. Hehe… I think I’ve gained some pounds. T_T Time to try lose them.

But now back in Kampar already, hafta get of my arse and start working. Erk…. I’l just curl up and die coz this sem is a killer….

Tired Tired Tired….!!

Erk…. Today class started at 8.00a.m and ended at 8.30p.m. That means I had to wake up at 6.30a.m, an ungodly hour where the sky is still dark and where is still considered night. We had 2 replacement classes today, thats why we had to end so late. We were so tired that we had to drag our legs up the stairs to our rooms when we came back.

Ironically, the hightlight of this tiring day was our our last Critical Thinking and Reading lecture. I half thought that I would be too tired to even lift my head to look at the lecturer. But thank God our he conducted the class in a very interesting way. For the first time, we had an ice breaking session out of the class.

The purpose of it was to bring our class together because we were a combination of 3 classes- EL year 1 sem 1, sem 2 and two information classes. SO we did not really know every body in the class. In fact, our lecturer blamed us sem 2 students for not getting to know our EL juniors. Hehe… We defended ourselves by saying our seniors tak layan us also when we came.

Anyway, through the very extremely noisy and funny ice breaking session and after that in class, we got to know and warm up to each other. I found out that despite the fact that our juniors look and some of them are older than us, they are a very wacky, cheeky, friendly bunch. I look forward to getting to know them better in the future. Welcome to EL, guys!

Oh ya, we lost our rice cooker!! Until now, we don’t know which idiot stole/took/accidently threw/potnap it… Anyone who know of its whereabouts??

New Sem…

First of all, can someone please tell me why do I have 6 subjects for this sem when my friends only have 4 or 5? Of all unfairness in the world…. Not only that, the timetable sucks as well (wake up early but come back late) but at least my friends are suffering with me in this also. Hehe… Better to suffer together than suffer alone, I always say….

When we got to campus on the first day, we found out that our uni doesn’t have the simple law of common sense. They put a big class in a small tutorial room and a small class in a big lecture hall…. And the hall was so cold (because there were so few of us, not enough heat) that we stand a chances of getting pnuemonia this sem. As for the uni itself, it’s so crowded now that it’s even a chore getting enough air to breath, what more getting food to eat…

Welcome back to campus, people!

Sayonara 2008

Another year has come to an end again. I can never comprehend how time passes so fast. Each year just glides by and blends in with the next and with a blink of an eye, we’re all older by another year. I think by now my friends have heard this the 1000th time from me that I don’t wanna be old…. I don’t wanna be called 20… I’m no longer a teen….. blah blah. Sorry guys, please don’t feel like boxing me the next time I say this again!

This post is uploaded a little late, considering it is the 5th of Jan edi, but who cares….

Year 2008 has been a year full of ups and downs for me, mostly in the relationship department. I guess no matter how lucky you are to find a boyfriend or girlfriend, you can’t escape the fact that you are two different people with different values, thinking and upbringing. Clashes are bound to happen. And the hurt that comes with it…. Erk…. Is something that is better left forgotten. For the first time, I’ve come to a point where I felt like losing my mind and cracking up just under the amount of thinking, pondering and worrying I had to do this year. Not to mention the amount of crying and screaming when I’m alone. +_+

But it was through these times where I came to fully appreciate my friends and the relationship that I have with God. As I have mention before, I really thank God for putting this group of friends around me, even if some of them are not physically with me. They cheer me up, make me laugh, are there to listen to me when I cry, offer me advice, comfort me, know when and what not to say to me…. I love them to bits!! I have also came to learn that God is always there to listen to me whenever I needed to talk to someone and that He is not judgemental no matter what I say.

Year 2008 ended with a toast with my family members. We unearthed a bottle of grapejuice from the cupboard and dunked in a few cherries and lots of ice to make a mock cocktail. Hehe…. We toasted each other as the clocked struck 12a.m. Yay! Happy New Year!
